FAQs

Q. What are Rubbabu Toys made of?

A. Simple, safe ingredients are carefully chosen. The main body of the toy is natural rubber that has been foamed and baked. The paints we use are created inside our factory using materials sourced from America and Germany. The surface is 100% nylon fiber.

Q. What will my child learn by playing with these toys?

A. Our toys are open-ended which means there are endless play possibilities and hence learning opportunities! At 3 months she may just enjoy the sensation of touching a little Rubbabu animal. At 6 months he may learn to pick up the pieces of the shape sorter puzzle. At a year, she may throw or roll the ball or car and chase after it, encouraging her to crawl and walk. Playing with blocks is a great way to develop reasoning and spatial skills. With our soft blocks, your child can begin learning as early as he is ready.

Q. What makes these toys eco-friendly? Biodegradable?

A. 97% of the toy is natural rubber, which is a renewable material because it is sourced from trees without cutting them or hurting them, and can be tapped from the tree every year. Natural rubber is 100% biodegradable. That leaves the 3% of the toy that is made from nylon, which encases the soft natural foam and makes it possible for us to use this wonderful natural material!

Q. What age group are these toys appropriate for?

A. Rubbabu toys are safe for ages 0+. By about 3 months babies are reaching for objects and these soft toys offer valuable sensory stimulation. From 5 or 6 months onwards, as babies grow and develop greater dexterity, they are able to start playing with toys and developing motor skills, coordination and their understanding of the world through play! Though our toys are safe from birth up, they are not teething toys, so teething children will need to be supervised.

Q. How do I clean my Rubbabu toy? Can I put it in the washing machine?

A. Wipe clean with a damp cloth. The surface is a high quality nylon which cleans easily. We do not recommend washing in the machine.

Q. Where are they made and who makes them?

A. They are made in our own factory in India, where we are proud to give more then a hundred people good, safe, well paying jobs. Our Indian company is run by Rahul Butalia, the founder of Rubbabu, and has been certified by ICTI - the International Council of Toy Industries for ethical manufacturing.
